  1. [ Smiles ] A rather unique picture of a boat on a river.

    • Thanks so much for your comment, Renard. I am glad you like the photograph. I did rather enjoy standing on the bridge in the dusk taking these pictures, I don’t know what the people on the boat made of the camera flash – not that the flash made any difference at that distance. It was a beautiful late afternoon, so I am glad I captured a moment of it.

    • Yes, that’s what my much of my life seems to be at the moment, in a literal sense. The walks along the river constantly enchant me. I picked out these three photographs from a walk I may write one of my rambling about a bit later, as a break from hand-painting cards! I find myself photographing puddles all the time, I don’t think I noticed how beautiful puddles can be before this year-of-the-blog-and-camera. Enjoy your weekend.

    • Thanks so much, Seonaid, it is good to hear from you. It hought this might turn out OK – the sky had these pink clouds, and the water was so still – and everything else so dark. Sometimes when looking towards the setting sun one gets that effect of bright light from the sky and everything else in silhouette, as of course you will know, but in this instance it really was dusk, so the photograph is quite close to the actual scene. I was happy that the boat kindly turned sideways at that moment….

    • Hi Anita Thanks for the comment, it was luck that I came across Coldstream Bridge when the sun was setting with such nice pink clouds, and that boat just happened to be there, with fishers trying to catch salmon in the gloaming. I looked at your blog and really liked it, fantastic idea to do a painting a week, lovely paintings. I also thought the article about “the stand” and the high wind very enjoyable, though at the time the whole escapade must have been somewhat alarming. Will be coming back to look at your blog.

      • Hi, Cara, thanks for such positive comments & your ‘likes’. My first year of blogging, so I still feel like a newbie. So it’s lovely to look at beautiful blogs like yours. Liked your pictures, too, as well as the photos.
