New Year’s Eve 1
In the foreground, River Tweed; in the background, the Lees field, under water. The gulls are everywhere, all other river birds seem to have vanished. Coldstream is fortunate, as though it is built on two rivers, Tweed and Leet, the houses rarely flood. But others in the Borders have been having a terrible time. I hope the New Year brings them better fortune. And I hope the Environment Agency gets their act together.
