    • Hi, Mary, and thank you. I was wishing I had a camera today as we were coming back from Berwick – the clouds were amazing, layer upon layer, all different. I have difficulty painting skies, so it is nice when a photograph comes out in an interesting way. There is something about Border skies, I never tire of looking at them, and I think this has grown since I started taking photographs. Probably you have the same sense of infinite variety when you do your series of paintings of landscape elements.

    • Thank you so much for your comment, Wendy. Usually my blog entries are in sequence, but I came across this rather out-of-character shot whilst I was culling my old photographs, so as not to overload the computer. It isn’t an obviously brilliant composition, but there was something about it I liked, especially as I couldn’t remember taking it! You do get some amazing skies in the Scottish Borders; now that September is nearly over they have started to get interesting, which makes up for the fading of the leaves and flowers.

  3. I love it. It looks so calm yet something’s brewing off to the background.
