Mallow with Bee
Nature is so skilful at putting the right shade of green with the right shade of pink…..
Down by the Riverside: Aconite 1
Walking along River Tweed towards Lennel, see the first Spring flowers growing up amid the winter stalks. The farmer’s electrified fence is down and clotted with heaps of river detritus, and rags of different colours flap in the river bushes. A gate, torn from its moorings, has been thrown on to one of the small islands along the edge of the Tweed. Spring is coming, the sky is blue, the rooks are cawing above the tall trees at the entrance to the wood.
Gold Tree by River Tweed
I thought this tree was so pretty, shining through the trunks and tracery of foreground trees on the steep slope down to the Tweed. There has been wind today, and it has grown colder and darker, so soon the trees will be almost bare; so I wanted to celebrate this lovely tree before it was stripped bare.
