Liddesdale: “Ancient Tree” and Bee Boles

The stones are the quoins of a 17th Century house, and beyond is a sycamore that has been recognised as an “ancient tree”.  In the wall running alongside the tree are these ancient bee boles, a rare survival in a drystone wall:
