Milo Searching Through the Garden

MH16and17The delights of gouache (and the dangers of not doing opposite illustrations on the same sheet of paper) – when I put these two paintings together for the picture book “The Midnight Hare” I found that in both of them Milo was clutching his chest in a heartfelt manner, so I changed this on the left-hand page, in the process of which I found all sorts of details that I hadn’t finished properly.  I must have scanned it too early. The richness of the colouring on the left-hand page rather bleaches out the other painting, so I may have to add to that too.

  1. Hi, I am trying to contact you as I wish to use a poem from Riding to Canonbie to be set to music for a special charity event for rescue horses. Obviously, we need permission from you, but I think you would love the piece and the charity trains the rescued horses to interact with disabled children. My name is Carol Mounter and I look forward to hearing from you.

    • Hi Carol I am sorry, I have only just picked up this comment from you, I hope that it is not too late to give my permission, which of course you have, it sounds like a really good charity. Let me know how you get on. Cara
