  1. I think it’s the openness I love, it’s somewhere between the prairies in Canada and the coastal mountains that hold Vancouver in their arms.

  2. Hey Cara,

Amazing Picture! I miss Northumberland’s open countryside so much!

I’m working on a short story series dedicated to the more hilly parts of the county, and I’m designing the book cover… I saw you posted a map (Northumberland Map 2, I think) and it looks like just what I need! Can I use it as a part of my design? How should I credit you?

    Thanks a lot,
    Alice

    • Reply number two – have traced your site. Such evocative photographs of this part of the world, I look forward to reading your blog. Would like to see your finished design for the cover. Good luck.

If the map is the bigger one of a wider area centred round Alston, and including much of Cumbria, then I think that is probably copyright to the people who commissioned me; however if it was part of a collage I don’t think anyone would notice, or if they did, they would not object. Nor would I. If you need a copy of that map let me know and I’ll see if I still have it. Sods law that I should trash that actual blog entry, which I think I did last week!
