    • Thanks, Rafael. I wanted to capture those thin runnels of light in the furrows of the field as well as the larger stretch of floodwater beyond.

    • Glad you like the picture of the field, Mary. I used to shoot pictures towards the sun a lot but then thought I’d overdid it so stopped; but in this instance I did want to capture the different patterns of the water on the ground. Also it was quite late, so the picture was quite true to the atmosphere of the declining sun.

    • I took it against the sun, but made a real attempt to capture the foreground light of the water in the runnels. The sepia tints make it feel a bit like an etching!
