    • One walks up this incredibly steep curling narrow dark stone staircase to get to the top, so I am glad I took some photographs as a memento, as I don’t think I will doing this climb again any time soon (my legs were sore the next day). The tower is miles from anywhere, it is one of the landmarks of the Scottish Borders. I have some pictures of some of the artefacts in the rooms en route to the top, wire and cloth scenes, which are intriguing and rather exquisite – I shall put some photographs of them up on the website shortly.
