Looks like an oil painting – love the atmosphere Cara. This is simply one of the best.

Hi Mary. Thank you so much for your comment. It was a bright late Winter day, with a golden light. The trees just coming into bud have this coloured haze round the tips of their branches, which is especially noticeable on the willows. I photographed this from quite high up, as I was walking a path that goes through a wooded area at the top of a bank, and it gives a good view of the Tweed and the Cheviot Hills.

Very lucky to have such special places to walk – great inspiration for creativity.

Hi Mary – I’ve noticed that since having a camera, I notice my surroundings much more. At the moment, though, I am in the studio, trying to draw faces – such a complicated thing to do. Next week I am starting a new phase of work. But give me a nice day, and I’ll be off out there, following the river. It is nice round here, one can walk for miles, no-one bothers you….
