Winter Trees

winter trees

Whenever I see trees silhouetted like this, I remember the illustrations by Arthur Rackham to “Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens”. I am sure I must have read the story but I can’t remember a thing about it; however the illustrations have always remained in my mind.  My grandmother had a special edition, brown with gold lettering on the heavy cover, with the illustrations pasted in at the back, mounted against a dark background, with tissue paper over each one. Long since disappeared, this edition, but recently I bought myself a reprint; not the same aura as that original, magical book, but lovely to have all the same.
