Red Admiral

Red Admiral

Almost the last buddleia in full flower, almost the last butterfly of the year. The underwings of red admirals are such a pretty sight.

  1. Such a beautiful photograph, hardly seems possible that the season is almost at an end.

    • Thank You, Mary for your comment. Yes, everything is changing – it is poignant, somehow, after this amazing summer. But another few months and the flowers of May and June will be back (I’m already planning my wildflower bed for next year). Also the skies at this time of year and later on can be quite amazing. So it’s on with another layer of clothes, and onwards….
