Marigold, Flies, Dew

marigold

One of the last stragglers from the wild flower bed planted this summer – I think this is a marigold from Homebase! – together with a couple of mallows (one of which, deep magenta, has grown nearly as high as the studio roof) and a few last poppies. Some dandelions sneaked in, and a corn cockle that was definitely meant to be there, and a single stem of fireweed. Next year I shall plant earlier and more circumspectly, but none the less, there should be some surprises.  There has been some kerfuffle about corn cockle being poisonous, so I shall try and acquire this pretty plant for next year before someone tries to ban it.
